What We Believe

Logtown Missionary Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregation rooted in historic Baptist faith. We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word for all matters of faith and life. We believe in one true God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven, and will return again. We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, not by works, and that all who are truly saved are eternally secure in Him. We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, gives new life, lives within every believer, and empowers Christian living. We believe the church is a local body of baptized believers under the lordship of Jesus Christ, called to worship, grow, serve, and share the gospel, and that Christ gave two ordinances to the church—believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and eternal life for those who trust in Christ.

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105).

God

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return again (Isaiah 7:14; John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11).

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, not by works, and that all who truly believe are eternally secure in Him (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 10:28–29; Romans 8:1).

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells every Christian, and empowers holy living and service (John 16:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:11).

The Church

We believe the church is a local body of baptized believers with Jesus Christ as its Head, committed to worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and service (Acts 2:41–42; Colossians 1:18).

Ordinances

We believe in two ordinances given by Christ: believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as a symbolic memorial of His death (Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).

Last Things

We believe in the bodily return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and eternal life for the saved and eternal separation for the lost (John 5:28–29; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15).
